Program #2: Advanced Diamond Setting is a 5‑day masterclass for jewelers who want to handle finer stones, more complex layouts, and higher‑value work with confidence. We focus entirely on hand skills, teaching you the techniques that distinguish everyday setting from truly professional work.

We start by refining your prong setting, concentrating on seat preparation, stone control, and clean prong shaping that protects the diamond while keeping the design crisp. From there, we move into bezel setting methods, where you will learn how to cut accurate bearings, manage metal thickness, and roll bezels evenly so they frame the stone without distortion.

Once single‑stone work is solid, we explore pavé setting fundamentals. You will practice laying out patterns, drilling and cutting seats for multiple small stones, and raising beads that are both secure and visually consistent. This is the kind of detail work that elevates custom and high‑end pieces, and it cannot be mastered from a book or video alone.

Channel setting skills are then introduced to help you build secure, elegant rows of stones. You will learn how to measure and cut channels, fit stones shoulder‑to‑shoulder, and tighten the walls without chipping or misaligning the diamonds.

Throughout the week, we discuss advanced diamond setting practices: problem solving on thin shanks, worn channels, and delicate designs, as well as how to evaluate when to rebuild, reinforce, or decline a risky job. All work is done on practice pieces with supplies provided, under continuous bench‑side supervision.
